Weekly Wrap-Up (#1)
It was an amazing week full of life changes, content, as well as wrapping up the final leg of the In Real Life tour with Alexandra Kay’s best friends Cooper Alan and Thomas Mac. (January 16, 2022- January 22, 2022)
Alexandra Kay Moves to Nashville, Tennessee
Last weekend Alexandra Kay shared an emotional and heartwarming message announcing that she was officially moving to Nashville, TN. For more than ten years she commuted back and forth between Nashville and Southern Illinois on a weekly basis to chase her country music dreams.
As she stated in her social media post, for over a decade she and her now-husband would go days, sometimes even a full week without seeing each other when Alexandra Kay was dedicating her time to networking, writing, and performing country music.
Dolly Parton Birthday Mashup Video
With the help of one of her best friends, Alexandra Kay performed a 2-minute mashup of classic and iconic Dolly Parton songs and covers. The video is a tribute and thanks to the 76-year-old singer, songwriter, instrumentalist, actress, author, businesswoman, and humanitarian who has inspired generations of country music fans and artists.
The video shared on January 19, 2022 has accumulated over 300k views and over 2.3k shares to date. Alexandra Kay, with Thomas Mac on guitar, leads with Coat of Many Colors, 9 to 5, Islands In the Stream, When I Get Where I’m Going, and I Will Always Love You before she excitingly tells Dolly Parton happy birthday.
“The In Real Life Tour” Comes To An End
A bittersweet moment yesterday (1/22/22) as Alexandra Kay, Cooper Alan, and Thomas Mac closed out their final show on the final leg of their “In Real Life Tour.”
Earlier this summer the three independent country music artists took the industry by storm as they announced and sold out dozens of shows all over the country without the help of a label, managers, or large marketing budgets.
While playing shows throughout the nation Cooper Alan recorded cheeky videos with fans while he was on stage. Cooper would shout “TikTok can’t sell tickets…” and the crowds of hundreds and even 1000+ would scream back, “Bullsh*t.”
The videos are a friendly poke at the naysayers who doubted three independent artists could trailblaze a non-traditional path to creating an authentic community that can sell out three full legs of a cross-country tour.
We will soon be sharing a post recapping all three legs of the “In Real Life Tour” that includes never-before-seen footage, photos, and funny moments.
